Performing Arts Employment Day at Bucks New University

Our yearly Performing Arts Industry Panel event will be held this Wednesday 9 March.
Our team have put together an exciting day that gives student a chance to network with professional actors from the Stage, Film and TV industry, catch up with Performing Arts graduates who are currently establishing their careers, receive lots of professional advise and to top it all up, there is a free performance and celebratory food and drink!

The event will start off at 3pm in DS2 with a panel discussion delivered by a diverse range of speakers:  professional actors will be joined by graduates of the Bucks Uni Performing Arts course to discuss their experiences and advise on how to secure employment within the industry after graduating from University.

Speakers include:
Gaye Poole and Amy Enticknap from the Saturday Matinee Company
Adam Brown (credits include The Hobbit and The Pirates of the Caribbean)
Margaret Cabourn-Smith (credits include Evermoor, Miranda and The IT Crowd)
Bucks graduates Connor Baker, Amanda Cairns, Georgia Walsh and Paige Fox-Rendle

The guest speakers will introduce themselves and give an overview of their career so far. This will be followed by a round table session where students can rotate around three tables and talk to the guests more informally, giving them a chance to ask them questions and get more personalized tips.

At 5.30pm last year’s graduate Modupe Salu will present her dissertation piece I Can’t Breathe, which has been selected for the prestigious National Student Drama Festival.

The day will finish with a celebration of our students’ achievements this year and more time to talk with guests and lecturers and each other; the team will provide free nibbles and drinks; no doubts the students will bring some music and try to make their lecturers dance :)
