an impressive achievement

Modupe Salu, who graduated from the Bucks New Uni Performing Arts course in 2015, has won two major awards at this year's prestigious National Student Drama Festival in Scarborough.

Modupe performed her solo work I Can't Breathe, which was originally devised as part of her dissertation research project. It was the only solo performance at this years NSDF festival and was awarded the Buzz Goodbody Student Director Award and the Spotlight Most Promising Actress Award.

A huge achievement for our Modupe - we are very proud.

Below are some statements we overheard about I Can't Breathe during the festival:

Simon Pittman, Workshop Leader for Frantic Assembly: “You had your research written onto your body in incredible detail – it really moved me”

James Phillips, Professional Writer and Director: “We have learned this week that you can see a play that’s 15 minutes long that you’ll remember for the rest of your life”

The National Student Drama Festival is a yearly event for theatre makers between the age of 16-25; it is supported by the Sunday Times, and below is the review that was printed in the newspaper's Culture Magazine:

Again, well done for Modupe Salu, and well done for Bucks New Uni Performing Arts!
